See ya later & Culture versus Religion

Hey blokes, I'm going on a short vacation to one of our Dutch Islands, breath that salty air and relax for a few days. I'll be back on Friday, next post might not air until Saturday, depending on how relaxing the weekend was. ; ) So I'm leaving you for the rest of this week, I'm going tomorrow morning, still gotta check out how early that will be if I want to make it to the boat on time, and still gotta figure out which trains I need to take to get where I want to be. So see ya! And for the religions of today; I've been thinking about that in the past few days (you've noticed that in the posts... if you weren't too distracted by Ryan's butt).

Culture, is a constantly evolving thing, it brings nationalism, ethics and thereby structure to a nation. It goes with its time, something religion doesn't. Religion just sticks with their miracles of several thousands of years ago, and their Holy Scriptures. Miracles like that don't happen anymore, we aren't naive enough to make or believe in miracles. Religion is not of today, it has the ethics, of thousands of years ago, which are plainly barbaric; it is useless.
Yet culture and religion are very much alike, they bring structure and ethics in our lives, which we need to base our laws on.

We are experiencing a lack of culture in the Netherlands, and behold, individualization has torn this country apart. Children do not know what is right or wrong, because media, parents, and even school teachers lack the use of culture. The same happens with secularization; the churches are empty, and only the dumb and naive are absorbed by their tales; much like a child is absorbed by a Harry Potter book. And Harry Potter doesn't bring ethics to a country, now does he? The structure religion and culture give is mandatory for a country, for nationalism, for ethics.

It's just such a shame religion doesn't go with it's time, like culture does; many people are spiritual, and want to exploit this, but today's religions are too barbaric, too plainly stupid to be attractive. Now these words may hurt some people, but it's true, whether you like it or not; religion is not good, there are some nice religions, I know that, but the larger part is only there to dominate life, to become more powerful, and requires people to dramatically change their lives to reach some higher level, which we are not willing to do. THAT is what is so wrong about religion, the judgment of other people than the perfect ones that are loved by God, is too old. People abuse religion for their own purposes these days, to make money, to become powerful, or plainly to rectify their hatred of other people. God needs to come up with some new ethics, because we won't buy his old versions anymore.

What you say about religion is particulalry true of the three major ones that were born out of the Middle East. You can pick and choose a few passages out of their "holy books" that are virtuous and applicable to the modern world, but more none than so.

Of the other major world religions, Buddhism, Taoism, and certain schools of Hindu Yoga have many more teachings that are practical and can be applied today without having to join them.

Will look forward to your report of your vacation to the islands.

If there is a god, I don't see it in the world today. Religion is bunk.

It is time for a new beginning, one of mankind, that encompasses all of humanity... sex won't matter, gender will be irrelevant people will be the center of the revival. This will happen one day.
